Rowland Rees

Rowland qualified in Medicine from the University of London in 1995, and is a Consultant Urological Surgeon with over 10 years experience, specialising entirely in male genito-urethral reconstructive surgery.

He currently works at University Hospital Southampton where he provides a tertiary service for urethral reconstruction, Peyronie’s disease, male incontinence, erectile dysfunction, testosterone deficiency, male infertility, testicular problems, priapism,  other emergencies, and previous failed male genital surgery such as difficult circumcision. He also operates regularly at University College London Hospital, and is part of the UCLH penile cancer and penile prosthesis networks.

Rowland is actively involved surgical clinical trials, and spent 2 years in research at the Wolfson Institute at UCL. He has over 80 publications and 5 book chapters in the field of andrology:

He is regularly asked to speak and teach on his areas of expertise, is currently Chairman of the Section of Andrology and genito-urethral surgery at the British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS), and has put together a number of national academic meetings.

Rowland carries out 15-20 medico-legal reports per year for both personal injury and medical negligence cases, such as over-circumcision, failed management of priapism, testicular torsion, pelvic-fracture-related urethral injury. Reports are usually produced within 4 weeks.
