John Scurr

Mr John Scurr is a world-leading Consultant Surgeon for Vascular and General Surgery with a specific interest in venous disorders, including deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. Mr Scurr was a Consultant Vascular Surgeon at University College and Middlesex Hospital School of Medicine, a Senior Lecturer in Surgery at the University of London and head of the Department of Vascular Research.

He has been author and co-author in a large number of publications in peer-reviewed medical journals  and has contributed chapters to textbooks. He frequently presents at international conferences. He is regularly called upon by the world’s media for his expertise, and has participated on a number of UK and EU government medical bodies and think-tanks.

He  has extensive  experience in the preparation of all forms of reports, both clinical negligence and personal injury. He has appeared in Court on many occasions. In some instances a successful case may not involve the Court at all but will involve a satisfactory resolution at an early stage.

He has  trained as a mediator and is in a position to offer advice.  Although many patients, following an unsatisfactory procedure, will be seeking monetary compensation the majority of patients actually require an explanation and an apology. In an attempt to facilitate this he runs a mediation service.
